XSnsagrav¶

class sherpa.astro.xspec.XSnsagrav(name='nsagrav')[source]¶

Bases: sherpa.astro.xspec.XSAdditiveModel

The XSPEC nsagrav model: NS H atmosphere model for different g.

The model is described at [1].

LogT_eff¶: The log of Teff, the unredshifted effective temperature.

NSmass¶: The neutron star gravitational mass, in units of the solar mass.

NSrad¶: The “true” neutron star radius, in km.

norm¶: The normalization is 1/D^2, where D is the distance to the neutron star in pc.

Set an initial guess for the parameter values.

Attempt to set the parameter values, and ranges, for the model to match the data values. This is intended as a rough guess, so it is expected that the model is only evaluated a small number of times, if at all.
